Compacted surfaces contribute to weeds and moss growing on the gravel road

Gravel is a porous, low maintenance surface that has both functional and aesthetic appeal. But when a gravel path surface lacks maintenance, the heavily used gravel surfaces become compacted. With the debris and detritus trapped in between the gaps of the gravel, it becomes a nutrient rich, damp environment for weeds and moss to grow.

Hence, it is crucial to use gravel path renovators regularly to promote a well draining gravel surface. By using the gravel path renovators, it;

  1. Cuts under the roots of the weeds
  2. Lifting the whole weed to the surface
  3. Loosening the detritus that was trapped in between the gaps of the gravel
  4. Decompacting and redistributing the gravel surfaces evenly

You can then blow or rake the weeds and soil from the surface.

When the gravel is decompacted and distributed evenly, better drainage will be promoted. Therefore the gravel will dry more quickly, which naturally suppresses weeds and moss. Regular maintenance with a rake will prevent some of the need for a heavy machine like the gravel path renovator to removethe weeds.
